Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of the website. Reading its content, opening a page, or using a search feature signals acceptance of the terms below. Anyone who disagrees with them should stop using the service.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no connection to a federal, Pennsylvania, or Venango County government body. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Its purpose is to route readers to criminal-record resources in Venango County and Pennsylvania. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site that operates independently from every public agency. It does not keep official criminal files, retrieve records on request, perform authorized background checks, or submit court documents for a visitor.

The service identifies the public custodians for Venango County records, including the Sheriff, criminal courts, Pennsylvania State Police Central Repository, and Pennsylvania State Police Megan's Law Public Website. It may also provide access to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is allowed only if the visitor agrees not to:

  • Use the website in violation of federal, Pennsylvania, or local law
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass another person with information found here
  • Rely on site content for a lending, insurance, housing, or employment decision
  • Seek unauthorized access to any account, server, system, or restricted feature
  • Deploy a scraper, bot, or other automated collection tool against the pages
  • Interfere with site performance or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use information found here or through a linked tool to intimidate, stalk, threaten, harass, or discriminate against a person. Such conduct may also violate criminal law. Pennsylvania registry information warrants special care because misuse of the Pennsylvania State Police Megan's Law Public Website against a listed person can lead to penalties. The registry supports public safety awareness. It does not authorize vigilantism or discriminatory blacklisting.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

The operator is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produces no credit report, consumer report, or official background check. The same limitation applies to how a visitor may use information returned by the site or a linked tool. Prohibited uses include:

  • Making an employment decision about a person
  • Evaluating a tenant or housing application
  • Setting insurance terms or judging creditworthiness
  • Determining eligibility for a license, permit, or public program where the FCRA applies
  • Carrying out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

A lawful check for a regulated purpose must come from Pennsylvania State Police or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA and all other applicable rules.

5. No Legal Advice

The content provides general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Venango County charge, conviction, warrant, Clean Slate rule, or expungement law affects a specific person. Consult an attorney licensed in Pennsylvania for that analysis.

6. No Warranties

All services and content are supplied "as is," without a promise that:

  • Published information will always be complete, correct, or current
  • Access will remain uninterrupted
  • Every page will be free from bugs, errors, or security flaws
  • An outside search tool will return a complete or accurate match

Criminal records change as cases are filed, resolved, sealed, corrected, or expunged. Updates can lag, and gaps can remain. Site content is never an official statement from the Venango County courts, Sheriff, prison, police, Pennsylvania State Police, or another agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to the Venango County government, Pennsylvania courts, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Those destinations are controlled by their own operators. Their content, prices, availability, and data practices are outside this site's control, so visitors should read the destination's terms before proceeding.

8. Intellectual Property

Venango County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. Written permission is required before copying, modifying, distributing, or creating derivative material from that content.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not responsible for damages arising from site use, including reliance on content supplied here or by a linked service.

10. Indemnification

A visitor agrees to indemnify and hold the operator harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by that visitor's use of the site or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Pennsylvania law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to website use must be brought in a court located in Pennsylvania.

12. Changes to These Terms

The operator may revise these conditions. A revision takes effect when the updated text is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, every remaining provision continues in force. The affected language will be adjusted only to the extent needed for enforcement.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
